Tips for Setting Up routers

true. i'll give you my situation to see if anyone can help me specifically.

i have a cabel line modem connected to a router, connected to the router is a computer and another router, the second router is connected to my computer. i know the first thing that you think is to remove the second router, but i cant because it is part of a computer proj i am doing, also i cannot connect the first computer to my router b/c of limited ports. i am open for suggestions

This is how you are going to want to set it up.. otherwise you can run into trouble with the router fighting about who assigns the IP address..
