I am getting a speed of around 30-40kb/s (even though I have no idea what that means. I am running XP, with my laptop. It is brand new. So it must be some sort of good speed. Again, I am dumb with these computer things. I am on Sympatico Wireless with Speedstream 6300. Here are the stats I ran. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 2636 Kbps about 2.6 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 322 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (server2) Test Time:: Mon Feb 6 02:07:53 EST 2006 Bottom Line:: 47X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.18 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 43.97 % faster than the average for host (121.206) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-4H35Q67K0 Is that good? Mike It depends on what package You got from Sympatico... did You get the 3000/640 or the 5000/800? ... if You have the 3 meg package then Your speed is right on...actually it was better then mine by 0.1megs or 20kB/s ... problem is there is never a constant speed with utorrent or any torrent for that matter... it depends on how many people you are d/l from ...etc..etc. I'm lucky if I get in the 120 to 190kB/s range. Should I do something with my ports for torrents I use Azureus mostly, though someone has said I should try Utorrent. It hasnt been better, worse if anything... They depend too much on the upload capabilites of the seeders, and also the limitations of the software itself. The download test shows that your speeds are very good (322 kB/s).
