When checking my download speed, it always is much greater when testing from one of the mirrors.

the mirror download is prob alot closer to where u live than the regular download.

post dl from mirror

that mirror is in same datacenter as testmy.net servers

i think its a matter of filesize, the mirror was 20MB and the main test was 3MB

bigger files get a more accurate score

try this CEL

I retested on the link you supplied VanBuren. The results are:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 5950 Kbps about 5.9 Mbps (tested with 20972 kB)

Download Speed is:: 726 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net

Test Time::

Bottom Line:: 106X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.41 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 165.98 % faster than the average for host (qwest.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-987QDRWMG

Faster then before.

The first 2 times I tested though I got a result that was a tad high according to the test results, so this was with the flat test. Is it then accurate? I also took down my firewall.

(server2) might have been a bit overloaded and there for did not give you the full potential of your life

but as probably have a 6Mbps connection or could you advise us in what connection do u really have

from a not so overloaded server 1 you got an acurate test :)

im refering to the 2nd one

yeah you are on top if it dude

well cool :)

i have 2MB connection and i get 1.9 just like you on a 6Mb get 5.9

have u tried tweaking ur connection and see if u can squizz some more bandwidth out of ur ISP

it wont be much normally but it could be enough for you to show as 6MB or more :)

this is more common from cable users then DSL from what i have seen around here
