richcornucopia Posted February 14, 2006 CID Share Posted February 14, 2006 Most modern laptops have a shutoff feature to prevent over charging so it shouldnt be a problem, but if you want a computer that will just be plugged in all the time then why not get a desktop? Shug7272 Posted February 14, 2006 CID Share Posted February 14, 2006 In the past few years I have owned nothing but laptops and always leave them plugged in. I have had no problems with it before. Rich's first post explains it pretty well. All the laptops I have owned quit sending power to the battery after it is done charging. You can check to see if your shuts off after fully charged by going to control panel then power options, it will tell you if it is actively sending power to the battery or not. When I use the battery, it doesn't have as much charge as it used to have and it takes a really long time to charge.
