Etiolate, have you read through our sticky?  http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097

If you post some more information, we may be able to help you.  Start with some feedback from the sticky, along with speedtest results and a traceroute if possible.  Also, with your connection, remember to test with a LARGER FILE SIZE.  Try testing from some of the MIRRORS, too.

i always test with the large file

i also just noticed today that i cant get my xbox 360 to hook up to the network now.  it uses a wireless adapter, and always connected fine.  now it seems to be having a problem, and i keep receiving error about changing my network to 80211a because of interference.

im currently using some settings that van buren gave me, but im still not seeing an increase in speed. any help would be appreciated.

Try the Verizon_Fios_DHCP_15000_2000.ccs from VanBuren's v.7 batch.  It will increase your MSS to 1460 and your RWIN to 512000, and also your DefaultSendWindow to 128000, which should help your upload.  Remember to click "Save to Registry" and reboot your PC, then run those tests again.

Question: is your PC connecting wirelessly as well?

i tried that css before, and my speed went down to to about 5mbs on the downloads.

i am not connected  wirelessly

this is after the Verizon_Fios_DHCP_15000_2000.ccs

why is all your trace routes blocked?  you sure your not doing that and not even know it?  my firewall can do that if i set it up to so are you using a firewall?

im using the firewall built into trend micros internet security, and i have peer guardian on

I am no expert on the subject by any means, but to my knowledge , when you agree to a certain package , they set your bandwidth in what they call a boot file, which limits speed. Correct me if im wrong . What I meant by third tier is the techs @ your isp that acually Know there sh*t. If you get this sometimes , not always I would say, not being an expert, once again, network traffic, or uncapping on your node.Oh yeh dont forget possible laser misfire on the head end , just to name a few possibilities.
