Of course I believe those... I've also got a million dollars in cash coming tomorrow

(hopefully that was obvious enough sarcasm)

If that speed was real DWay would probably charge you 600 a month for it

(and yes, I saw your Brooklyn bridge comment)

That was via Mirror (Seattle) TMN speed test.  Looks like the only one acting like that.  I sent them a problem report this afternoon.  Sure looked good even tho a lie!!!!!!

My one moment of glory - HA.

EWO!

I used that same test and got this:

I monitored the download with my bandwidth monitor.  It really DID download that rate!

EDIT:

Upon further review, the modem lights barely even blinked during the test, so I suspect something is wrong here...

NO SH*T!  Lol! That is definitely consistent. Kind of funny that I came upon that by accident. But still does not explain why the 2992 file does that! Or why the same test does weird things to others. But the real story will be if it holds up. Got my fingers and toes crossed. And now a little prayer. Cool. :D

I do hope that that means you will go harass somebody else now!

Maybe this is the site that Dway is using to convince itself it is good!

(Seattle Mirror. They must be serving up compressable files)

They werent real speeds oleol.

Looks to me like hughes web acceleration was accelerating the download file.  Because when I was testing with this, the only light blinking was the lan light on the modem, nothing else.  So it wasn't actually downloading a file that big.  It was just a small compressed piece that the DW7000 decompressed and gave the "appearence" of a fast download.

Well, I've had my HN7000 system since 8/3/06, I'm on the Home Pro plan.  The transmitter had to be replaced on 8/23/06.  Once replaced I went to Speakeasy to see what I was getting - It was a weird result with two back to back tests.  The first was 5575 down and 857 up, the second was 6263 down and 901 up. Never happened before and hasn't happened since.

tommie gorman, thanks for the "welcome". I used the DirecPC/Direcway/HughesNet dial return system for 9 years and had some crazy "bursts", but not like the ones I mentioned.  As a matter of fact it got to the point that anything above 300 down could be considered a "burst". So far I'm quite pleased with the new system, once the faulty transmitter was replaced. My first speed test this morning was 1560/670.

At the top of your browser left click on Download Test.

Under Available Download Tests it will say "Express Dual Test", left click on that.

At the end of the test it will say "CLICK HERE to copy to your clipboard!"Left click on that and right click on the info in that box, left click to copy to your clipboard.

Then go to the place you want  to post and right click and paste.

That should do it.  :D
