How can I make my AT&T adsl connection faster

I have a AT&T pro dsl connection the speed 3008 kbps download and 512 kbps upload.

How can I get more download speed, my current download speed is:

Connection is:: 1430 Kbps about 1.43 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 175 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net  (Server 1)

Test Time:: 2006/04/05 - 4:02pm

Bottom Line:: 25X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 5.85 sec

Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 17.141 seconds to complete

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 73.71 % of your hosts average (ameritech.net)

You should be able to do a lot better than that. You can download cablenut, or TCPoptimizer from this site to tweak your settings. Just go to the top of your screen under misc. tools and click tweak guide. Whatever you decide make sure before you apply your settings that you backup you registry. If your pc is new enough you can use the system restore program. If not you can just export it from the registry to a file that you create. Hope this helps, and good luck!!
