RTB 25 Report post · CID: 196184912438 Posted January 8, 2005 The problem is not your computer, it's either the cables between you and your ISP, or some other major problem at your ISPs side. VanBuren 111 Report post · CID: 19543569429906 Posted January 8, 2005 with that low ping to testmy.net you should be able to get very good speed without any tweaks, unless you have some issues in your ISP network. Sometimes Ping shows up ok even tho your dropping TCP packets, try this delete tweaks and check what speed you get with default settings, open cablenut adjuster click delete cablenut tweaks + click save to registry. also if you have Dr.TCP open that and make sure every field is blank or is set to default, scroll on network adapters and blank out every MTU value, click save. now reboot your pc and run a new speedtest, also run this test and post result http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks VanBuren
resopalrabotnick 2 Report post · CID: 6342747356454 Posted January 8, 2005 hm, i seem to have replaced my real comp skills, i hope the ones i picked up working for german telekom will do. first off, that ping looks good. which leads me to concur with the troll and the swede. lose the tweaks, check it. either you overtweaked something or something that shouldn't be fiddled with, or you have a line issue. on your end, unplug all phones, faxes, modems whatever. make sure you have the splitter hooked up right. if that solves your worries, your splitter is letting phone crap into the high freq part of the line dsl uses, borking you. if all the cables are ok, plugs clean, clean contacts with a soft pencil eraser if necessary, and you still have trouble, get on the horn to the telco dudes, have em check the line. a corroded connection somewhere along the line can cause bad signal/noise on the line, causing the dsl to have to correct errors a lot, causing packet loss, basically. xs1 32 Report post · CID: 221416806496 Posted January 8, 2005 Your ping times own (altho your going thru 2 routers O_o...) With pingtimes like that, its absolutely nothing on your side, its your isp.. Either you are way too far from the CO , or they got you on a 768 / 256 cap it looks like, instead of your advertised. You should call them up and tell them thats unacceptable.

netmasta 0 Report post · CID: 223221548692 Posted January 8, 2005 You sure you arent accidently calling aol? Trust me it's not just aohell, which I don't even want to be near. Once when I called Comcast, I was going through the automated menus, and I litteraly went in a circle, twice. Who invented "helpful" automated menus anyway?
