does cablenut work on dway 6000?

Cablenut work for all types of connections, but there is no tweaks made for DW6000 so you need to edit those values by yourself.

Alot of ppl does not recommend tweaking DW6000, and some ppl have done tweaks and say they work but im not sure if its just burst speed

when you test speed make sure to use atleast 2992 KB test to make sure burst is not fooling you

good luck

So I did the Dr. TCp and here is the result.  No real progress.

What is MTU? and Where is it?

I use Mozilla and have already done the LAN settings.

Well dang BrawnyDawg,

I didn't realise that you were using Mozilla, so perhaps NONE of the info I gave you is of any use.  I DO know that right now the web is going about as fast as it ever does, so you really should be getting another 200 than what you are unless you are in a city with ALOT of interference!

By chance do you have an updated copy of IE6 installed (with SP2)?  I have a feeling THAT very well may be where the "missing" 200Fbps has gone.  I just took a speed test using the same criteria you did, and I'm running about 200 faster than you.  I don't have Mozilla loaded as an alternate browser, so in the meantime I'll get a copy installed and mess with it to see if it just may be dragging you down (and to see if I can find a tweak to spark some life into it.  Some folks get better results with the "light-weight" browsers, but for a DW6000, well - - it's designed from the ground up to work with Internet Explorer 6 with SP2 installed.  It's worth a shot if you really want to research all the avenues of approach until everything is exhausted right?  :)

Cheers!

*I'll keep this open (as always) so that I don't miss your next post.

This is my result using IE. A little better. However I found this on the copperheadpc website

"Well, according to the manufacturer you should get up to 400Kbps. That's decent by most peoples standards. 400Kbps meets & even exceeds some dsl modem services. The new DirecWay Satellite Return System (SRS) also advertises speeds "Up to 400Kbps", but is capable of considerably more"

So i guess I am getting a god speed...just wish I could tweak more! It is way better than my dial up was!!!

I stopped using IE because of the pop ups. Even with the best popup stoppers I still would receives some. Mozila - NO popups  ever............

Connection is:: 1039 Kbps about 1 Mbps (tested with 1496 KB)

Download Speed is:: 127 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Bottom Line:: 19 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 8.06 second(s)
