laptop overheating

Anyone else have a Toshiba Satellite A75?  Well you'll probably have the same problem, but it keeps overheating and shutting down.  I used to have it up for 4-5 weeks with high load and daily use, and now only hours with the same load.  Also the fans don't even go on high before it shuts down, just the normal speed.  Anyone know how to make the temperature higher to shut down for over heating?  I can't find it in the BIOS.

edit:  it has a P4 HT 3.2Ghz processor, but I put it down to 1.8Ghz due to it getting too hot at 3.2Ghz

you probally can't charge the fan temp setting, some laptops have utility's for windows that can do that, but Ive never been able to do it on a Toshiba. but as far as the fan only going to normal speed and not high you could have a problem there i would give Toshiba a call because it should not be doing that at all.

My guess is that there is a bios update for it.. Dell had a simular problem on the 8200 series a while back with fan dying due to over use..  Compusa should be able to fix it.. it might require a new chassis.. but shouldnt take to long to fix..
