MORE info for anyone that can help me .....

TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402

MTU = 1500

MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460

Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 128480

RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits (scale factor of 2)

Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 64240

RWIN is a multiple of MSS

Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)

256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) <-- current value

64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your TCP Window limits you to: 5139.2 kbps (642.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

Your TCP Window limits you to: 2055.68 kbps (256.96 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 121 hops

TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

even with really messed numbers you will get more than that if your not capped.  have you reset your modem when you started getting these speeds?  do you have a router?  if yes try testing just connecting 1 computer to the modem and test again.  if nothing happens i am almost 100% positive you are capped as i only see those speeds with people that are capped and i have never seen speeds like that on a bad OOL line so another option is to call optimum and they will tell you if you are capped.

i used the VanBurens_cablenut_settings_version_9 zip and i use the cable 10000.ccs file and the speeds that i posted are my speeds now with the 10000.ccs file and no i dont have a router.. do anyone know the down an up number for a bad ool modem?  my speeds were really bad before..

what do you mean down and up number?  do you mean download and upload?  if yes you should have atleast 1000 kb upload and 10000 download if you werent upgraded yet but if you were you should have 2000 kb up and 15000 down( new basic package) and for boost its 2000 up and 30000 down.  if you need a cablenut file  here is a few below you can try but i think your capped.

well for 1 they are the ones who capped you and for you to get un-capped you would have to agree to what they offer you.  i never got capped so i dont exactly know what they say but if you are capped and they let you off of it let us know what they said and had you agree to if you can.

i ask them if i was capped and he said yes that he would fix the problem and he did .i also ask him about my up load and he said that if i upload more then 30mb for a long time that my upload speed would go way down to just about a 56k modem speed only for 3 hours. (there is a limit for upload)

no if you use utorrent too much they will cap you cause you are using too much.  30 mb is nothing and shouldnt be worried about but you must be using over 75 gig a month upload easy to get capped and you must have been using it for over a month.

how much do you use utorrent?  do you have something to track how much bandwidth you used?
