For the people under 18, if they are willing to click on a topic that explicitly states "18 and over only" or some other disclaimer, then most likely those individuals have already been to other sites with much more explicit content than seen in here. I feel that limiting the group because of the possibility of some dishonest individual viewing threads they shouldn't just seems wrong to me. I do not care whether nudity is allowed or not. The larger question for me is where it will go from here. What might be next: Violent content, explicit language, references to smoking, drinking, etc., etc.....? Yeah, a little freedom is Great. But at the same time, I would ban my own daughters from seeing the T & A & P's in the other posts. Just being a normal father. But in defense of this site, I will vote no on this poll. The biggest and best attraction to this site is its forum, without discrimination towards age, sex, religion, nationality...whatever. I think that having an "Adults Only" section is a means of discrimination towards our youth members (a notable chunk of the population). It isn't fair; you wouldn't make a "White, Christian, Heterosexual, 23-Year-Old Male" section, nor one that pertains directly to single--or more correctly one that eliminates all other--groups of people. I think that we might find that it will become a deterrent, and go exactly against the code of this forum. I do like the idea of the Members Only Lounge, not just as a means of enticing guests to join the forum, but as a means to unwind away from the public (ie. Google-able) eye. I think that is a great idea! But we will have to test and prune out certain content as we go. Sometimes there are things even CA3LE has said and done that have completely surprised and freak me out. . . so I guess this may be just one more of those ~ that 'we all' need to deal with (and agree with). What I'm saying is; ~ this has become such a yes and no question (for some, including me) ~ I think what we 'really' need to do now ~ is define some agreed upon 'boundaries' (wsuggestions) ~ for the "Members Only Lounge" only. What I would like to propose (for the "Members Only Lounge" only) is; if you 'feel the need' to post a T & A pic, do so by providing a hyper-link with a warning in red, like [WARNING: ADULT CONTENT andor NUDITY] Then the person (the "more seasoned" member) has a 'choice' ~ to click that 'link' or not. . .this seems fair to me, as long as it's only here in the 'Members Only' section. Also, I think this section should be opened up to members only after 100 post or more, ~ to me ~ that would be more of a 'seasoned' member ~ meaning, a more informal trust has already been developed ~ beyond the "Help" and "Check this out" 'newbie' postings we all started with ~ when we first found this site. [i know, this might be completly un-doable, now, so it's just a thought, maybe] Also, I think the "Members Only Lounge" should be seen by all members, including the general public (Guests), on the Main Forum ~ Board names list!! ~ but not accessable (meaning still restricted) 'till that member (or Guest has become a member) and after the 'seasoned' requirement has been achieved. Meaning ~ The WHOLE POINT of why I thought a 'Members Only Lounge' would be a neat idea ~ was to entice our 'Guests' into becoming members!! ~ Marketing 101. . . . as we can see ~ it looks as though the "Moral Majority" is gonna win this 'vote' ! ~ soooo, can we talk more on what I've just proposed andor YOUR ideasuggestions . . . and see if we can come to any common consensus, (maybe?)
