d-link dgl-4300 all the way.  has gigabit lan ports.  108Mbps 802.11g wireless. with  a nice antennae.  and just change the router's IP to 192.168.1.1 in the config.  Also it has a really nice web configuration to forward ports.  I don't know about the other question

I want to buy a new wireless router that

1) gives my full BW up and down (I understand the speed limits of wireless) talking on the wired side for my Linux box and my gaming pc

2) Get back to the 192.168.1.1 class

3) Be able to forward as many ports to ip's as I can (this is better on the d-link)

4) range of wireless, pocketpc game console laptop

First off welcome to the forum...

Have you tweaked your connection at all to get clowser to your advertised speed?

You can have the 192.168.1.1 again, you just need to change your routers Local IP Address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 it is probally under advaiance in the routers control panel.
