Speed needs improvement

Recommended Posts

hey flywhiteguy and welcome to the forum :)

download vanburens_cablenut_setting_2versions.zip https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1013.0

unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut

open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks + save to registry

in top left corner you see file, load custom settings file, browse to

C:ProgramCablenutvanburens_cablenut_settings_version_2VanBurens cablenut settings Version 2WinXP_2K_CABLE_DSLMSS1460

dubble click on Cable & DSL 3000 384.ccs (assume you have a 384 Kbps upload cap)

now click save to registry again

reboot your pc

good luck

VanBuren :)

heya  flywhiteguy :)

you must be dropping packets, with these rwin values you should max out your connection

try lower your rwin

change TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize from 256960 to 64240 and also change Tcp13230pts from 1 to 0

also restart your modem, leave it off for 30 seconds

good luck

Thanks VanBuren for all the help so far...I imagine you have better things to do than help noobs with their issues, so I appreciate it!

Here's the latest test (got significantly slower with the latest tweaks?)

no problem, i like to help :)

disable your firewall during the test at speakeasy, sometimes Firewalls can block it.....

heya flywhiteguy :)

your RWIN is in range for a 3 Mbps connection, i think you dropping packets beqause you was faster with a lower RWIN, however the loss is there and that makes it impossible to reach cap.

also test speed here

copy the text result and paste it here

http://nitro.ucsc.edu/

and make a new tweaktest and post link
