Although much of the host servers here are still run out of CA3LE's. Implementing host .edu's is more satisfactory (and those across the atlantic) can more accurately give any speed test a more accurate result. Perhaps a smaller <script> for direct upload should be common based on ones connection, ie; dial-up, DSL,Cable and Fibre.
