Looks like JKAT already has it. It's rolling out here in Pittsburgh on the 20th automatically...I'm glad because I hate calling the tech support anyway. We'll just have to get posts here of people who download large files and tell us how stable the speed is and if the speed is consistent throughout the whole length of the download. The question is...will it help me connect faster to xboxlive and hosts on live. God forbid comcast give us some upload love for our multiplayer games. :haha:

Hey I pay for a 8Mb speed.. Not complaing. love the speed. but if it's possible to get 16 why can't i get 16Mb instead of 12Mb with the new burst thing or whatever you all are talking about?

that would prob be something that you have to talk to a tech person about.  It said in the article that people with a 8mb will get 16mb burst speeds.

well, i aint complaining, i had the 8/768 plan for almost 8 months for the promo price of 19.98  AND I DO NOT HAVE THE TV SERVICE. before the 16 down upgrade i always got 8+ down 99% of the time.my cable is not split, right to the modem.plus i am a half mile or less from the main office, which provides service for alot of towns much farther away.also iam not on a congested node,no city or subdivision, kinda right on the water, long island sound.since the upgrade it has always been 16+ some times 17+.......

I have the 8 Meg plan through Comcast. Even when there is network congestion now the lowest I dip to is 6.5 Mbps. Do you guys think when powerboost kicks in that the speed fluctuation will be equivalent to what it is now on my node? In other words...Do you guys think that once it kicks in will my lowest speed be 14.5 Mbps when there is lots of congestion? I'm guessing what all this powerboost bs means is that we aren't promised the speed but we'll most likely have higher numbers than our standard packages of 6 and 8 Megs.
