2 Computer test times are way different

the slow one has a on board 3com card and this one has a linksys car. on board should not make that much of a diff .... right??

please post the stats for both computers .. let us know the CPU speed, how much memory, what OS, and let us know what speed your provider says you are supposed to get... also are you running any proxies or firewalls on either of the machines?

both are pluged into the same HUB that Hub plugs into DI-604 and i swaped the ports on the hub with no effect. Should i try the cable?

no onbard lan are fine unless your particular ilan is deffective.  Like dlewis said make sure you have the latest drivers  installed.  Onboard video is not that bad unless you are a gamer

Onboard LAN is actually better in many cases, because it's directly attached to the Southbridge if I recall correctly.

you would be correct, it is directly attached to the southbridge, and has direct communication to the the north bridge and the CPU.

mrcrash you need to also make sure you have the latest chipset drivers as well.

ok i did not check my chip set drivers, great tip i never would have thought to update that.  i will up date and then repost with my results.

just make sure were on the same page. i did make sure i have current drivers for my nic
