I was wondering if my download speed is normal

Im running winXP sp2 up to date,motorola surfboard sb5100.

I called my isp and they say that my download speed is normal but from the test that i do here is showing way below normal.

Just wondering what you think

Are they lying to me?

Hi,

if 10Mbps is your advertised speed, that makes me think your problem is hardwre based, low DB signal, faulty modem or router, even a defective cable. Better check out with your ISP, before calling ISP check out with a laptop or another computer

wait.. it says " up to " 10 ... hes barely pullin 1m . I think he should try tweaking first, but if that does not help their may not be much that can be done. Because ill tell you first hand, " up to " means "any speed at any given time "

I think my isp is messin with me or something because,

I did all everything amc11890 suggested and there were no big changes but the next day after i turned it back on

it changed BIG TIME!

Im not sure what happened but here is my new speed
