CTo 0 Report post · CID: 6337152851987 Posted July 4, 2006 Before I upgraded, I had the Basic package with advertised speeds of 384/384. Some of you may have not heard of this package before since it is a "grand-daddy" package and it is no longer offered. I was paying $26.99 a month for this and have been using it for about 2.5 years. Clearly I have paying too much for such a speed so I decided to call SBC. I was advised to upgrade online at www.att.com/upgrade. I chose the lowest package that is offered right now -- the Express package with advertised speeds of 1.5 dl / 384 ul. It's a promotion called the "loyal customer upgrade"? Anyway it has been 4 days since I upgraded and I am only receiving 81 kB/s download. My upload seems about right at 40 kB/s. I'm not even getting half of the advertised max! However I do realize that this falls in the 384 - 1.5 DL range. Upsetting... BUT here's something that confuses me. I go to http://192.168.0.1/ and it shows that I am ONLY connected at 768 Kbps (downstream)!! If I dl at 81 kB/s, it seems allright if my max really is 768 Kbps! Can somebody help me? Much appreciated.
