***Firefox 2 release candidate can be downloaded now, and the actual beta is due later in the week.***

They had an error in the story and did make corrections on the release date for Firefox 2 Beta.

According to reports, the beta version comes with a built-in antiphishing tool, improved search box capabilities and an integrated spell checker. Changes have also been made to the RSS support.

I am going to guess that if there is a new GUI that it will be release when the final product is out..  I thought that GUI was on the original improvement list to begin with?

:-/  -- I was hoping they would have changed the look a little bit :( -- it looks just the same :(

I guess I need to read that article and see what's changed :-P

Yeah i was hopin for a new look too, but firefox has themes anyway but i was still wanting something that would feel more....next gen, but if they did that, we would probably need ALL themes to be updated
