Intel to Introduce Core 2 Duo Chips for Desktops on July, 27

Intel Corp. has reportedly postponed the release of its code-named Conroe desktop central processing units to July, 27, 2006. The reasons for the move are unclear, but it is likely that the chipmaker wanted to supply as many chips to the market as possible and also prepare appropriate platforms for the new family of central processing units (CPUs).

Originally the Intel Core 2 and Intel Core 2 Extreme microprocessors were scheduled to debut on the 23rd of July, but, according to the most recent changes in Intel
