Apppreciate the heads up there user00265.

If what you fellas say is true, it sounds like DSLXtremo did you all a favor anyway. It apparently was not worth being in anyway. And was bound to die. I'd rather be in the lifeboat before the boat sinks.  ;)

Thanks for the visit, you are always welcome.

DSLXtremo also.

:D

As a DMAX/PRTC customer you should be used to this yearly crap. They have some internal routing problems they don't even know where to fix, as it happens after the last hop from them, but from outside to the island happens on the hops in here, not where it starts for us to outside.

I'm personally packing going with PRW as ISP using PRTC's lines. Heard there's no lag on their systems, we'll see.

Well... finally we have some competition and the customer is getting what they payed for...

5mbit from dmax and 512kb for 24.95. Sounds good... I still think that onelink is ahead because:

Although Onelink has 4.4mbit... you get 100% bandwidth capacity, where as with dmax you get 80%

That means

550kb/s with dmax more or less sustained vs 535kb/s sustained for onelink... onelink is cheaper... 30/month cheaper AND you do not need a phone line with all teh stupid fees.

every business is about profits... but from that to mistreating your customers is another story.. look what happened to DMAX and how they lost that many customers.. When i was working there, at least they wanted to change a bit the situation, but they still had the attitude of: for every one we loose we will gain 4...

They didn't want to raise the speeds, nor they wanted to do ANYTHING about it.... So what has happened.. they had to add  2mbit.. when they saw it wasn't enough... now they are giving 5mbit.. same thing will happen to craplink if they continue with this issue... If they are having problems with the additional services, get more backbones... not limit your customers. The internet is a service and its like saying.. The electric company is going to limit you to 425kw / month...  You can only oversub so much.

Sure. Its in Spanish:

All they say is that they will throttle the bandwidth and will put caps or 'quotes' on what amount of bandwidth you can use. "Insiders" say the cap is 40GB DL and 10GB Upload, and some accounts have been banned so far.

of course it says /that/. but afaik it's always said it. if you get pegged by that article then you've got your box on 24/7 leeching anything that ain't up the tree by the count of three. that says nothing about a general monthly quota etc. that says that if you dl too much then they will take a look at your traffics behaviour. when they do that and find that you are constantly dl'ing, then they'll cap ya.
