Sprint Wireless Data Connection - EVDO

It's not stalling, it might take up to 30 seconds to run the test. It first runs a short speed test to see about how much bandwidth you have, then selects an appropriate download size from the info it gathers there. It should say "Conducting bandwidth tests..." and nothing more.

Sprint EVDO - Novatel S620 Modem

I have been using Sprint's EVDO Service <<$62.57 Monthly>> July 2006 to Current

Speed is 800k to 1.82 Megs as an >>>> adverage connect

I have tried Cablenut and other Tcp/Ip Tweaks but no real difference - if anything made it go lower

You can connect your Cell Phone as a wireless modem for your computer or laptop for both PC and Mac and access the internet from anywhere.  All you need is an inexpensive data cable.

Sprint ##DATA tuning  ( does help as I have tried it )

http://www.evdoforums.com/thread2001.html

Using OpenDns.Com's Dns Servers of 208.67.222.222 and 208.76.220.220

instead of Auto Assign DNS Servers - Did help somewhat

Also their are a few posts here on TestMy.Net (Search)

that relate to EVDO and Satellite Service

for more refs and info ......

Good luck

I use 802.11 b/g the most >> quite a few of the Casino's are Free Wifi

When the new Rev comes into play , it should make a linespeed increase

( see past posts for speeds, tweaks, notes and that info )

So far I have yet to find someone that is unhappy with EVDO Service From Sprint

So Enjoy

I've figured out what the deal is with those inflated speed tests.

Someone linked to the ##DATA tuning of the HA, and I've used it long before I saw it mentioned here. However, I saw some people getting higher speeds with certain HA's and thought I'd give it a try.

While connecting to one certain HA (I didn't try EVERY one), it seems that the gateway/HA implemented some sort of compression. I tested while over 10mbit on a device not capable of even 5mbit. If image quality looks poor, it may be compressed to speed things up.
