TraceRoute takes forever

I ran a trace route today, and for somereason it takes forever to compleat 10min +, its not my computer because it does it on all computers here, even a laptop that i brought home from work it does it on, im stumped and i cant figure it out, does anyone got any ideas why this happens, or how to fix it.

traceroute ?

u doing this in Linux or a cisco box?

can u give us a copy paste example

i have had that problem in a cisco router

tracerouting and it was taking ages not because of the routing on that router but on some other place on the network

but its very difficult to know ur problem just from what u said

give us some more info

theres is no problem with the trace, it just takes for ever to compleat.
