hello ctlenator....Welcome to the forum.

Try going to control panel / Sounds and audio devices / Sounds.

In the list of sounds at the bottom, scroll down to the "Start Navigation" sound and click on it, then in the dropdown box choose "None" and apply.

Hope that's what you're looking for.... ;)

Thanks, that worked. A friend of mine tried to tell me how to do it, but either he's an idiot, or I am.

That's the best way .it turns off Windows sounds. It still lets you leave the volume control on so if you want to listen to something on the internet you can.You can use mute when you want to also.

I just have IE6 in it there is a setting in Internet Options/advanced under multimedia  to "turn off sound in web pages" .That would probably work but not what you would want.

dn0 ;If you have Plus it's in my Program files try the jungle theme sometime.I also use none most of the time.

Thanks, cholla.

I actually turned the sounds off a few minutes after I updated to IE7 a few months ago.

I was just agreeing with ctlenator on how annoying the clicks are...
