You can't say that! Oh yes I can!

I thought it would be fun to get to know others here with some our of favorite quites. Some of you who know me, know exactly the sense of humor, and the sense of integrity I have, so you won't be surprised by the seemingly random nature of some of MY favorite quotes....

Lets have at it!

Progress isn't made by early risers. It's made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.

Robert Heinlein, Time Enough For Love

I love this, it's so true!

A long and wicked life followed by five minutes of perfect grace gets you into Heaven. An equally long life of decent living and good works followed by one outburst of taking the name of the Lord in vain - then have a heart attack at that moment and be damned for eternity. Is that the system?

Robert A. Heinlein

damned funny qoute, indicative of the common day hypocrasy we all live in, and yet it was written decades ago.

I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

Robert A. Heinlein

a perfect statement on the ideal of personal responsibility, and then, the fact that people take it too far.

There is no beautifier of complexion, or form, or behavior like the wish to scatter joy, and not pain, around us.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

VERY nice phil!

Accept the challenges, so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory. -General George Patton

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. - Thomas Edison

I find that work is the greatest thats why I'm saving some of it for tomorrow.

Don't know where I heard it but have always liked it.

LOL!

how about:

It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?

For everything there is a season,

And a time for every matter under heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die;

A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;

A time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

A time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to seek, and a time to lose;

A time to keep, and a time to throw away;

A time to tear, and a time to sew;

A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate,

A time for war, and a time for peace.

No, not The Byrds. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

I hold it true, whate'er befall;

I feel it, when I sorrow most;

'Tis better to have loved and lost

Than never to have loved at all.

Alfred Tennyson

oh boy, now you're getting all romantic... time to kick it into high gear:

To rely on a train in Blair's Britain is to engage in a crapshoot with the devil.

Boris Johnson

but the song was better!

and this one rocks!

U2 Grace

Grace

She takes the blame

She covers the shame

Removes the stain

It could be her name

Grace

It's a name for a girl

It's also a thought that changed the world

And when she walks on the street

You can hear the strings

Grace finds goodness in everything

Grace, she's got the walk

Not on a ramp or on chalk

She's got the time to talk

She travels outside of karma

She travels outside of karma

When she goes to work

You can hear her strings

Grace finds beauty in everything

Grace, she carries a world on her hips

No champagne flute for her lips

No twirls or skips between her fingertips

She carries a pearl in perfect condition

What once was hurt

What once was friction

What left a mark

No longer stings

Because grace makes beauty

Out of ugly things

Grace makes beauty out of ugly things

And thanks for the Peter Gabriel again. Great artist. Do you have any old Genesis you can play? The Trespass or Nursery Cryme albums?

water 'We have a quotes topic somewher but why not a new one.

I'll start with one off the top of my head & I hope it's correct.

From the late Jimi Hendrix"Remember it's peace(giving the peace sign) & not this (giving the finger) but peace (givint the peace sign again).

Heres you another :Theodore Roosevelt 1907

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith

becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality

with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of

creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in

every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance

here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all

. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language

here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and

that is a loyalty to the American people."
