Although my speeds are always faster on here. You just went way over my head. I wonder if ghostmaster has any idea's, besides it was bound to happen. Which evidently is not the issue here. Im in a remote area relating to DSL or Cable, however there is 1 P2P wireless signal overhead and when they came out to do a site survey I was told that I would need to erect a 100 ft tower to access the signal as I'm in a hollow aside a Lake. Well thats just not going to happen. My Var http://www.galaxybroadband.ca/ is setting up wireless around the province and is an ongoing procedure. It's just a matter of time before the whole country will be a hotspot IMHO. I'm in constant contact with these people as I can bring them close to 150 new customers who can only recieve dialup or go the costly way as I did years ago with DirecWay. Here is the latest E-mail they sent me reguarding the status of wireless in the area. Trying to get you this service in Rockwood/Fergus, but having problems with the town of Rockwod for tower permits. If they wanted to get rid of them so bad, they should have discontinued commissioning them, and offered a free upgrade to the DW7000 for all 4000 customers, instead of choking out their bandwidth.. Then again, maybe it's just paranoia and the speeds will start to come back up. Maybe they are working on your transponder to get it ready for HN7000s. Who knows... You say they are only getting 500 D/L on the 7000, why would I even consider anything in buying their equipment. The U/L is still not that great. If I couldget 1000 on a 4000 and not have to buy any equipment, I would see no reason to buy into it all. Still faster than a 7000 D/L. Just not what a person is used to. It's self hosted, produces 200k+ uploads with a standard transmitter, and gets better/more stable ping times. That translates into faster secure sites and browsing. The only downside to the 7000 at all, is the fact that downloads are restricted to what you PAY for. (or less during extreme peak hours) (Notice I said they should have offered a FREE upgrade, if they wanted to oust the 4000 so bad) I never said they were only getting 500kbps on the 7000. I did say they were starting to run like that on the 6000s though, for some people. Now that im on a better transponder, I usually run this except for during heavy peak hours: :::.. The 6000 is not far behind. A few of us keep posting once in a while. Mostly me I guess. Is there somewhere they are still posting those speeds? Just curious. Free would have worked out well, if not for another 15 month contract. Or is that the same thing. If so, I would trade them maybe now that they have the bugs worked out. Never cared that much about U/L much. And remember the 6000 is self hosted also. Still not sure why they would want to drop our 6000's any in speeds. I am a rare execption you said. As well as 4000 and 3000 speeds. Not everyone is being capped. Some on the 4000 are still seeing "normal" speeds. Not everyone on the 6000 is capped either. (im just speculating they will) Ive just noticed certain threads where people on 6000s are saying their speeds are running at 500kbps. And some even saying it's always been that way. If uploads don't concern you, then there is no real reason for you to upgrade to 7000. I wouldn't do anything until the next gen (spaceway 3) comes out anyways.
