Gaming Router?

Any router can be a gaming router.. It all depends on how you have it set up...  That dlink router is setup to give games priority over all other network traffic..  This can be done with any router that support QoS..  As far as opening port it might do that automatically but I would see that as a security risk more than a benfit.  It also might have a more powerful processor onboard to allow it to process packets and route them quicker than a normal router.

With that being said... there are quite a few people with that router on these forums and I think ever single one swears by it..

one thing to keep in mind gaming routers only make a difference if you or someone else is downloading or uploading a file at the same time while you are playing a game online. so if dont plan on downloadinguploading files or have more then 1 person online at the same time then you really dont need a gaming router.
