ive been having this problem recently when i play computer games that my screen looks like someone shot a bullet in the center of the screen, and it looks like the moniters is just shattered glass, everywhere. It makes me not be able to see anything and I have no idea how to fix this problem, is it my Video Card? or is it some setting. It happens on almost every game i have except ones that have bad graphics. can someone help me out?

holy crap...ive never seen it that bad....

geez.....do you have your video card overclocked ? what are its temperatures.....

all of that could lead to gfx corruption like what you are seeing

if you have a beefy video card, is the power supply strong enough ?

do you have the latest drivers ?

this is what it looks like

Looks like you're playing in "Cataracts Mode"  :haha:

Joking aside...Damn that sucks..

What kind of video card do you have?  How old is it?  What size is your power supply?

If you have an nvidia card, try uninstalling your video card and driver, then boot into safe mode, and run the Nasty File Remover (attached).  This will rid your system of old driver files.  Run the NFR until it comes back with no driver files, then install the newest drivers available.  There is also an ocx file attached.  I needed it to run it, you may not.  If you get an error for the ocx file, just unzip it, and place it in the same folder as NFR, and it will work fine.

Sometimes the newest drivers can cause problems as well, at least I've noticed it with Nvidia and older cards.  For example, with my card, if I use the 91.47 nvidia drivers, I can't play any video file, in any format, with any player or the whole computer will lock up.  Right now im using the 84.** drivers.  I would get rid of any drivers you have using the method voltageman suggested, and try using the original install disk first.  If you still have the same problem, upgrade the drivers to the newest.

I just wanted to let you guys know i do aprreciate the help you guys are giving

I tried what you said Voltage, and it didnt work for me. i tried to install the old drivers, made it worse, and now i have the newest drivers which are making it better, but its still there. you guys think buying a new video card would solve it all? (thats a last resort, i dont have that kind of money on hand lol)

How old is the card that is in there?  Have you tried to remove the card, and reinsert it into the slot..Perhaps its not sitting right in the slot?  Can't hurt to try...Of course, power down, remove power cord, and discharge yourself before you touch the card..  ;)

Do you know anyone that has an old card that you can just test with?

Is power supply ok?  Perhaps it's not putting out enough juice?

Here is a step by step:

1) Click this link http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/GeForce-Overclocking-CoolBits-Reg.shtml

2) Download the coolbits - extract it

3) Double click the ge-force-overclock.reg

4) Let it add it to your registry

5) Restart your computer

6) Right click on desktop and select properties

7) Go to settings tab

8) Click advanced

9) Select GeForce 6600GT Tab

10) Click on temperature settings

The temperature should now be displayed....report back with temp readings ;)

The images or screen shots show as this when I use properties:

That's 2 of them.On my OS while they load I can see the image but once loaded they have the white square with red X.

I think the problem is the image on the end.

Most image properties end like this below

I am not having a problem with them.

Anyone else have a problem with the first 2 or an idea hoe to fix it in my OS if you aren't?

I use IE6 with Windows ME.

After posting this If I click the links in this post the image loads & stays loaded .But it still doesn't in the original post by Thatonedude1 Reply 5 & 6
