I did it maybe half an hour ago. He told me that I could just reset my modem and I would be good to go. Do you think my modem is limiting it? And yes, I did some tweaking for my old connection

your going to need to re-tweak. but first unplug your modem and wait about 30sec and plug it back it, just to be sure you are getting your new config file for the faster speed.

didn't work... I'm still getting 4 megs.  I called Comcast and he told me the signal was pulling 17 megs...  :?: I'm so confused

I didn't think it would. I say give it some time. Thats about all you can do, if it's not better in the morning then I say call and get a tech out to your house.

EDIT: Try some speedtest on other sites. (www.speedtest.net, www.speakeasy.net/speedtest, www.rlpspeedtest.com, http://nitro.ucsc.edu/)

hey, try scanning your pc for spy/ad ware.. that might be the problem *it is in many cases*

Yep, try reading here  and follow the whole thing. A dirty computer cannot go fast.

It is a daily routine for me on most of it.  :grin2:

And if that does not do it, go in safe mode for a very good cleaning.  :wink2:
