I'm sure for those of you who know how to custom build...thats the way to do it.

Myself would not attempt to custom build a PC....pretty sure it would not kick nothing, I would be kicking it  :violent1::tickedoff:

:haha: Me to. Custom ordering is also faster, and you can get support.  :wink2:

what parts would anyone of you guys use to build a good pc for gaming and video editing....at least 2ghz processor...would actually prefer at least 2.4 but not needed as long as its above 2...and good graphics with at least 256mb. and 2gigs of ram. then the usual. 10/100ethernet card, like 4 usb, and dvd burner dual layer drive. i cant seem to find a good mobo and cpu combo.

I build the system below a year ago, If I can build one anybody can .  :haha: The only problem I had was the motherboard,Had to RMA  after 6 months when it crashed on me.Took two RMA to get one that worked.

Actually I have no fear of building one. I just figure if the cost is about the same ( I do only surf for the most part, or e-mail) why bother. And I have no mistakes to make that way. It works or else. I don't have need of a special one at the moment. Really what I NEED is a faster connection. No computer can change that.  I can always upgrade it no prob. But I like buy, plug, and play.  :grin2:

The part that disturded worked out[Reply #22] sounds real good,I have use Gigabyte boards twice and had no problem with them [very stable]...I would spend the extra $91.00 and get the Intel E6600 Conroe[i like spending money :haha:] Make sure whatever case you get has good airflow to keep everything cool.

The only reason to build would be to control what is actually in the computer.. I am not sure on the XPS line if Dell is using oem motherboards or not.. But if they are you are pretty much buying into something that might not be able to be upgraded as much as a system that is custom built..

if i remember correctly in the lower end XPS systems they use a intel codesigned and in the higher end XPS they use a ASUS motherboard.

And shipping is usually minimal.  :grin2: Newegg is a good place to deal with.

i've bought 1gig of ram and a dvd burner drive from newegg before havent ever had problems with them and they came in 2-3 days.

Everything you see below came from NewEgg, shipped by UPS. to me in 3days or less. Alot of it came the next day.[i live in southern New Jersey, warehouse in northern New Jersey. :haha:]

lol nice...i live in southeast kansas....so it takes the full 3 days and i usually pick rush shipping which they refund if they dont send out at least part of my order next business day.  :smile2:

West central Missouri here, and the same 2-3 days. But I usually use standard delivery, I figure they won't become outdated in the few days saved by a rush.  :grin2:
