Lastly... this is for Firefox users... Tweak your settings to make it load pages faster.

Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining

network.http.proxy.pipelining

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Got this info here: http://www.masternewmedia.org/news/2005/02/04/firefox_speed_boost_tweak_tips.htm

I think I've posted enough to make your connection much much faster... Cheers!  [geek]

anyone knows how to port forward in smart bro

Not possible for port forwarding.. smartbro is using non-routable address. 192.168.x.x...

If you want to access your home web server.. you need to install ipv6 and tunnel broker...

you will be given a free ipv6 address.

Here are my stats from testmy.net

and here's my stats from your speedtest...

The funny thing is, when I used speedtest.net and chose the Pakistan server (which is much closer than Dallas, Texas), I got a lower speed... I got 128 kbps.

So I'm thinking that maybe speedtest.net's stats are 'inaccurate'?

I have a question for those who have fast connection speeds. How much free hard disk space do you have? I called SmartBro customer care again and they told me that my slow connection could be due to my low hard disk space (14 GB).

I just want to confirm this before I buy additional memory/HDD. Thanks!

And who told you that? You should remember his/her name because it is absolutely BULL$$$$ (sorry...)

If I have a Windows 98 machine with 64 mb of memory and 2 gigs of harddrive space, I could still make it to work properly.

^I see. I'll let them know that. Thanks. But anyway, could you people give me an advice on how to talk to their CSR and get them to do something other than type a freaking report? They keep on saying that they have already reported/escalated the complaint to their technical staff. I've called them 5 times already and they keep saying the same thing. :tickedoff:

Hey, I do that too...

the color code is referring to the base station your in..

you can change color code/base station depending on the range of your canopy,

go to AP evaluation then you should have a list of some sort search for the color code then check its activity..

I'll post visual steps later. :)

so hang on guys.

smart burat!!!
