Ok i have comcast and a rca dcm305 modem. I have been trying to host a battlefield server for me and some friends, and they cant connect. I have the windows firewall disabled. Does anyone know if my modem is firewalled, i talked to someone from comcast and they said as far as they could tell its not, then i asked them how i can open the port and they gave me a link to the terms of use page...

The reason they sent you to the terms of use page is because hosting a server is not allowed on comcast unless you have the buisness plan. Also im pretty sure you need to forward some ports for the bf2 server client. www.portforward.com

thats a good site for forwarding ports.. try that.

The modem is not firewalled.. If you are hosting behind a router then you will need to either DMZ the server or forward the necessary ports for BF2.  The other thing to check would be if your anti-virus has a built in firewall.  Most suites now include a firewall that also needs the ports to be forwarded or turned off to host.
