After doing all the priceing and such it is gonna be the best for me to stay on dsl. I was wondering if hooking up my dsl in a diffrent manner or diffrent ideas may help speed. Honestly I am pretty happy with my speeds the hookup im not crazy about. I live in a apt with one phone jack. Small apt. Its in the center of the apt on a wall half way up. Wall mount. Now I have my filter right below the wall mount. My phone in one side my dsl in the other. To get from my wall to to my computer in the shortest distance without trippig over the silly thing I did this. Ran the phone line (extention cord) up the side of the wall. Over the drop celing across one room down to my coputer. So up the wall 3ft, across the celeing,12ft,down the wall to my computer from the celeing 5 ft to computer. Any better ideas??. Being just a casual surfer, downloading very little, and no uploads cable for me would just be overkill. Dsl is plenty fast for me. It may take an ex 2 seconds for a web page to load but im out here killing time anyway. Not worth to me the extra cost. Plus I do love having my own pipleline and not sharing with others. .....thanks in advance.......

You guys so rock. Thats what I was wondering THANK YOU. Now for the dumb question. Where to get a lan cable that long?? Radio Shack?? Should I use connectors in case the cable is 2 short and add to it?? Should I make my own maybey?? I have the perfect place I think for the modeum, That would be sitting on my t.v. Is that a good idea?? Ive seen severl places that putting it close to a microwave will mess it up. Is that just while the microwave is on?? My microwave sits right behind the wall of my t.v. That could be moved. Words can not express how much I truly apreciate your help and advice. Does the lan cable lenght matter. Should I make it as short as possible by running it over my drop celeing or can I go the long way around. Maybey another filter?? Any more tips and tricks and advice would be so greatly apreciated. Just be prepaird for probally more silly questions  Thank you

take it easy man

the cable if it is cat5 or cat5e should go for 100Metters ok

i dont think ur house is bigger then that is it?

considering the microwave behind the wall i dont think it is a problem, as long as it is not a wireless router as well as a modem and even with that they operate in diffrent frequencies its just a possibility that it could mess up, but it will not in most of the cases

so i think you are safe putting it next to the tv, and leave the microwave alone in my opinion

make the cable as long as you want
