Why doesnt all movie theaters get rid of the old tape technology and go with DVD,  I think the viewing experience would be alot better with the pic quality especially the HD DVD's I wouldnt mind going the the theater to watch movies if they had HD DVDs playing  :smile2:

I just had to put my thoughts into this and wondering what you all thought about it

...out of the nation's more than 38,000 movie screens, only around 2,200 have digital projectors

I think HD DVDs are of a lower quality then what the theaters have because theaters dont care about portable DVDs.  (just play off a harddrive)

i think it is because films are recorded on a different media to begin with - hd has its highs and its lows - its not the fact that film makers don't have money to invest into expensive cameras, but its many different things, such as lighting, size/portability of equipment and even a personal preference

No movie theaters use DVD, HD-DVD, or Blu-Ray, they don't have the resolution. There are theaters now that use digital stacks. The movie is basically kept on a hard drive so it can be moved around easily.
