For some time now, my computer is been having MASSIVE slow connections, on the other hand my other computer is having no problems and is running fine on the internet on blazing speed! I have Roadrunner for my ISP and the problem computer (the one im on now) is using a wireless G usb adapter and it receiving the wireless g router signals (All belkin). Right now im only two rooms away from the router and im having a 4 bar signal.

The computer without the problems has the download speeds of this :

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Download Connection is:: 4901 Kbps about 4.9 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB)

Download Speed is:: 598 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1)

Test Time:: 2007/04/28 - 2:14pm

Bottom Line:: 85X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.71 sec

Tested from a 5983 kB file and took 10 seconds to complete

Download Diagnosis:: Looks Great : 4.43 % faster than the average for host (rr.com)

D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-EZ07BJIRW

User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) [!]

(Without cablenut or any tweaks)

I have these speeds :

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Download Connection is:: 1491 Kbps about 1.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 182 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1)

Test Time:: 2007/05/05 - 11:31am

Bottom Line:: 26X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 5.63 sec

Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 16.437 seconds to complete

Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 31.8 % of your hosts average (rr.com)

D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-U1BX97LTS

User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 [!]

The problem computer had the same speeds as the other computer, but after reformating it.. it's speeds reduced (heavily). I have changed the channels and everything on my router and gotten no good results, i have turned off all my security for the tests and this is DRIVING ME INSANE! Please help!

The computer without the problems is hard wired to the router.

Do what swimmer said, And also check for possible interferences, I dont know much about wireless networks but I know interference is a bad thing, Its also possible someone is using your network.

Use TCPOpitimizer and set it correctaly as well.

The difference is that Microsoft sets the default TCP windows for wireless so low that it actually hurts performance.  I use TCPoptimizer for my wireless stuff, for me it just works better.  Might want to check that out and see if it helps.

BTW welcome to the forum!

Ok, now it decides to boost it a tad. All I did was do a TCPoptimize using Optimal settings..

You are not going to be able to get the exact same speed.. you might be able to get 80-90% of the wired speed.. but it is just not possible to get wired speed on a wireless network, too much overhead.

Adjust the slider on the top of the program to 5500kbps.  That is most likely the best that you are going to be able to do.
