Just wondering if it is possible to set up a home network with a pc running xp and a laptop running vista.  I really only need to be able to print from my laptop.  I have tried and it is not working. Maybe doing something wrong.  Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you can, You just need a router. Do you have one? Then you just need to share the printer on the desktop, to be able to print from the laptop.

Open IE and type IP address of other computer.  That should bring up the shares that you have setup.

To get the IP address of the other computer: Start | Run type cmd press enter | type ipconfig /all..  Look for IP Address...
