Port Routing

oke guys, me again =)

I installed VMWare a couple of days ago, and the internet works fine, but I cant seem to route stuff to them >_<

Im using a lil program from NetworkActiv, but its a shareware thang and it nags every once in a while.

btw, my modem asings my external IP as an internal IP to the PC, so basicaly its a one way path... but theres gotta be a way or a program (free)

So, my question is, how do I route data incoming from X port to my VPC IP?

You should be to do this... You have internet so you have an IP address.  Are you running this through a router?  If your are then simply assign the port number to the VM IP address.  That should take care of the routing issue.  If you are not running it through a router.. then it depends on how you setup the networking on the Vm itself.

Yep, it depends on how you setup the networking on the virtual machine.  If you set it up to just bridge with host PC, it won't work.  You'll need to assign an IP to the VMWare virtual machine.  Then if you are setup on a router, you should be able to port forward to the IP address of the VMware virtual machine and it should work.

omg, I MUST have been super drunk when I tried port fowarding on vmware, cause it dint work and now it does. well, in any way, thank you both cause you made me explore a bit more the nat thing on vmware!! thanks again!
