I access my canopy by the canopy esn number. ESN number is located on the canopy itself.

take note of the last 6 character of your esn number then group them together by pairs for example the last 6 character of your ESN is D506BA just group them as D5-06-BA. then you convert this 3 groups from hexadecimal numbers into decimal number by using the windows calculator for the group D5-06-BA converted into 213-6-186. then use this numbers like this:

change you ip address as 10.213.6.187 notice the last 3 part of your IP address is the numbers above exept for the the first one which is 10, and notice that last number is187 instead of 186 because you will be needing the 186 later. hte default gateway would be 255.0.0.0

after changing it go to you browser then key in 10.213.6.186 then you should be able to browse your canopy settings

Last resort is to use a default plug and and access the canopy page with the default ip of 169.254.1.1.

You can read the canopy manual for the complete instructions, download @

maybe you've been tweakin too much... you know, tweakin gets addictive at the beginning but as tine goes, it will all boil down to your satisfaction. As i said, I never got over the 400 mark but im pretty happy with my speed right now. Its not all about the number...  :smitten:

20. Restart PC

Your speed must be optimized now. Test your speed http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php

This guide gave me almost twice the advertised smartbro speed!

<--- I find this ineffective and does not prove to speed up the smartbro internet speed. According to other forums, smartbro has upgraded some of its base stations in selected areas/cities with a capacity of 512 kbps per subscriber.

If you can notice with your internet plan found at the smartbro portal, your account is changed from SMBRO to WR512, meaning upgraded already / ready for 512 kbps capacity.

That's why our speed can now burst beyond 384 kbps and even more than 512 kbps.

guess it wont work out for everyone but 20 step should help out on those people starting out their first tweaks, gives them an idea to start off.

and agreed with jun101ph your smart transaction history would appear with the WR512 instead of SMBRO when your area is upgraded.

you are directly lambasting that post!  :knuppel2: but you never have proven otherwise!

to tell you frankly jun101ph, only you have said that the 20 steps have been inefficient.

if you found other means to speed up then make a post of your own will you?

i don't want to take sides here, I'm just gonna say some things from my point of view.

i think what jun101ph means is that it is ineffective for him, as suggested by the words "I find" in his post. he's just saying he's findings with his own computer, that's all.

and one more thing, please do not pretend that you have PROVEN something  :evil6: :evil6: :evil6:

what does that mean, are you challenging him to prove something? what does he have to prove? i think that's way out of line.

to tell you the truth, i don't use that 20 steps anymore. gourame is right, should just chill out. makes people think you're freaking out just because somebody disagrees with you.

i know i can't please everyone.

but if jun101ph discredits something just because he believed its the changing of the color code (access point/base station) that matters most, which makes all the other posts on tweaks inefficient, why is he singling out the 20 steps post?

did you guys get what i mean? please read his recent posts.

jun101 even branded testmy.net's speed tests as inaccurate. then why is he still here? to derail forum topics? just asking.

frost, i don't care if you use the 20 steps or not. as long as there are other smartbro users who believe in tweaking, as long as it is worth helping them speed up their connections, i will be here to help even if i am not paid a single centavo. did you get me?

besides, i understand that anytime anywhere, there is always someone who has what is popularly called "crab mentality".  i don't even care who that is. i just care for those who believe that i can help them. and truly, i will help them in my own little ways
