Insight Sucks so bad

Wow - that is all I can say.  Speed was average at best.  I live in the south end of Louisville and I play online games from time to time.  I can't even play now - my ping is all over the place.  Anywhere from 70 ms 250 ms and then spikes to 700 or 800 ms sometimes.  Ridiculous.  I've rebooted the router and modem about 5 times - router is less than two months old. Check out my weak speeds.

I live in Northern Kentucky and speeds were bad for the last couple weeks in prime time. My tracerts aren't so good either. The backbone they use to save money Level3 got to be the worst. Didn't have many ping problems when they were using ATT. I don't know about you but I used to be routed through Atlanta first, but now I'm routed through Chicago first now and gained two extra hops getting here to TMN. Right now my speed is normal for me.

I imagine I used to routed through Atlanta first as well.  All I am saying is that we pay over $110 a month for cable and internet services.  It's pretty much a damn monopoly.  We have no other choices for internet - I'm 24 and very few people my age has a land line telephone nowadays.  So DSL is out of the question.  Anyways, here is my trace route to testmy.net

my speed in north central indiana (soon to be comcast) I have always had consistent speeds.. only a few times have I noticed a slowdown

your bad latency times and speed can be many things---

1. scan for spyware/viruses/malware, etc

2. run a speedtest on another computer and compare

3. call insight and have them check your signal to you modem (you may have split your line too many times to multiple tv's)

I will  run a free online scan tonight when I am sleeping - I will try TrendMicro's Housecall.  I do however have Symantec Antivirus that scans every night when I am sleeping and haven't seen it detect anything for a long time.  I guess I need to call Insight, even though I know they won't say or do a thing about it.

OK - Here are the stats on my roommates computer.  He has wireless and connects to the router in my room.

It looks good to me. I have the triple play and only pay $110.62 a month. Have them out and check the from the poll to your computer. I've had everything replaced from the poll to the computer and all the TV's. I complained a lot until it was all fixed. Write a letter to Mr. Willner and complain and I'll bet someone will take care of you. I even got my cable price dropped from $44.95 to $30.00. Its worth a shot. Just be nice but complain!
