Well i finished building a new comp today and as you can see it needs a bit of work, lol. Specs are:

CPU: Athlon 2500+ Mobile

MOBO: Abit NF7-S

RAM: Samsung pc 3200 512MB

VDcard: Nvidia g force 4

HD: Seagate 40GB 7200RPM

PSU: SHIT

People are OCing this chip board combo up to 2.7-2.8 ghz so this should be interesting once i get a good heatsink. Oh yeah OS is WIN XP Professional. Whenever i use win update to update it i get this error-

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;830086

I tried the registry fix to get around it but no go, any ideas??

And yes i am still going to build the Pimputer. :D

Yup fresh install of xp, but i can't seem to update i don't know if it had any issues that might hurt my speed. It has no NIC it's got 10/100 onboard LAN. Sure is slow eh...

well if you have a NIC, go into the bios and disable the on board lan ~~ then install the NIC ~~ this will of course rule out that as being an issue.... that is the first thing I would check with a new mother board with on board lan.
