Direcway markets a great product with wonderful down and up loads,,,, Over the phone they are trained to speak connection speed, NOT REAl WORLD upload file transfer speed... Because if they did , they'd sell less of us suckers their product,,, Of course, for me i had no other option as I live in the booneys,. wih no acces to DSL or cable... if ANYONE has any alternatives for me to direc-slow-way.... PLEASE let me know... I'll be happy when the power companies get their internet service going... and it will happen one day .... btw,,, my upload speed fluxes between 1.5 to about 9 but usually averaged around 3......I have to send my files to my server by mail for them to upload...

Hello dixievideo and welcome to the forum. Lets make sure of some very basic setting. First Internet Explorer is much better to use with direcway. Now in IE make sure you have these settings

Tools

Internet Options

Connections

Lan Settings(screenshot attached) make sure your settings are the same.

Now click on Advanced(screenshot attached) make sure everything is the same here also.

Next follow the direction in this thread.http://www.testmy.net/topic-1703 You will be able to download TCP Optimizer form a link in that thread. Now lets try a upload tweak found in this thread. http://www.testmy.net/topic-1773

Please be very careful when editing your registry. Make a restore point before doing any of these suggestions. I hope this helps you and post back with your new speeds.

....the lady instantly told me it was due to radar jamming. I told her  that my dish was not located at Area 51 or within two hours of an airport. Nor was there a speed trap set up in my yard.

LMAO....that's the best one I've heard yet... :haha::D:lol::haha:

Really?  I'm using automatic detection, not proxy.  When I set it up as described, no connection?  Do I need a static IP.  This machine has never been networked.  I'm running XP Home SP2.  Straight Ethernet cable from to the DW6000.

Glad to hear that you got it working. Give it a couple of days to settle in. You should see more stable speeds after 2 or 3 days. Everytime you make a change it will take the NOC a couple of days to register them and stabilize.
