ninjageek Posted October 15, 2008 CID Share Posted October 15, 2008 I have a asus m2npv-vm motherboard. Replaced the cpu. Everything went fine. In fact I am useing the computer now to post this. Problem is Darn thing has a high pitch beep that is continueous. I have tried to reflash the bios and no luck. Not sure what to do. Any ideas. Have yet to really push the upgrades I just installed. Give me a few days. Be intresting to see how big of diffrence I get with the new video card and 6000 dual core cpu I put in. Installing the cpu was really easy. Only have one question if anyone knows. The peace that holds the fan to the heat sink is kinda goofy. The old one had 4 screws, The new heatsink just has 4 tiny holes, Any Idea how to remove it for cleaning?? Buntz Posted October 15, 2008 CID Share Posted October 15, 2008 Can you put a picture of the heatsink and fan up? The only AMD heatsink and fan I have is the one off my 4400+ and it has screws . vern Posted October 16, 2008 CID Share Posted October 16, 2008 My stock AMD fan doesn't have screws. It has 4 rivets holding it to the heat sink. And yes, it is a pain to clean.
