advertised speed for download/upload 9000 (i am using this pc from a belkin wireless net adapter, the main connection is cable from timewarner)

3. Tweakers: From DSL REPORTS LINK. note: i tried to download the UNIBLUE from this site

and it will not install, it said the framework is not there.it attempts to fix it but just hangs.

4. Notes and Recommendations Enable TCP timestamping (FAQ #706)

for 'long fat' (high ping) pipes

Change MTU to 1500 (FAQ #652, #695)

Choose RWIN between 84912 and 225504 (FAQ #586)

If you have GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize registry entry (do a REGEDIT Find) then change it to -1 (decimal)

download/use DRTCP .. (FAQ #578)

Read the tweak FAQ

Observations:

Run a line quality test

Install cablenut and if you can not find a vanburens setting  you think will work then try this. http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php. If you do not feel comfortable using cablenut, then try optimizer. Optimizer will do more of the tweaking for you, all you have to do is put in your advertised speed in the slide bar at the top of the page and click on the optimal setting button at the bottom of the page. After using either program make sure you reboot the computer before you do another speed test.

hi

This is my test result this morning.

its way better. my questions...

This pc is using wireless network adapter...when i do any tweaks or tests what do i choose? (i.e. when the options are cable dsl etc...) it is wireless and i am not sure if i put the numbers for the cable connection that i am getting the signal from or what?

also. i have tried to change the mTU as the tweakster test recommened but no matter what i do the test keeps telling me to do that. how do i change it to 1500 and make it stick?

When you do a test use cable , that is what your ISP is. Use the advertised speed that your ISP give you. I use cablenut instead of Optimizer but I think if you use the custom setting button instead of the optimal setting button it should let you change any setting you want.
