Hi all... I'm new to this site, and I love it.  Thanks Van for the tweak tips.  My connection speed has definitely improved.

I've got Adelphia Premier (in Virginia).  Advertised speed is 4000/512, but here's what I've been getting consistently:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 5391 Kbps about 5.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)

Download Speed is:: 658 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Test Time:: Thu Feb 24 09:08:36 EST 2005

Bottom Line:: 96X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.56 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 117.12 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-PLK1TAHYC

Has Adelphia increased the cap for Premier speeds?  Looking at this score, what would you guess is the new cap?  6000/768?  If it is, should I adjust my Cablenut setting to reflect the change?

yo eliyale i'm in va also. i'm on 3000/256 though. i believe adelphia has raised the cap for both 3000/256 and 4000/512. Maybe one of these days i'll upgrade to premier and top those scores  :haha: but i'm fine with my speeds right now. i just wish my upload was faster...ahhh it sucks so bad  :angry5:

To test, I disconnected the uplink from the router and connected directly to the computer.  Here's what I got:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 7472 Kbps about 7.5 Mbps (tested with 5983 KB)

Download Speed is:: 912 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Test Time:: Thu Feb 24 09:30:33 EST 2005

Bottom Line:: 133X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.12 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 200.68 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-Z5KLIGMT1

Wow!  Obviously the cap is higher than 6000/768 (at least in these parts).  I do have a question, though.  Is it common for a route to decrease speed so much?  Obviously my router is cutting my speed by about 2mb wired (and 3 mb wireless).  Should I think about getting a new router?

hey eliyale  and welcome to the forum :)

you can try the 6000 768 file if it dosent help change back, to the file you using now

make sure to click save to registry and reboot after you loaded new settings
