Help on D-way UPLOAD Speeds

Ok, I did all the tweaks (THANKS REVEREND!) and my download speeds are staying fairly decent now (notice I said fairly decent....I think any other problems are on Direcway end).  However, my upload speeds still suck.  Anyone know of anything I can do to get some more speed there? I sell on ebay and its hell sitting and waiting for pics to upload!

Also.....does D-way have any FTP space for storing pics for upload? I am an X-aoler (can we say SIMPLE here?) and I don't know how I am going to upload my pics without AOL's FTP space?????  Where do I put those pics for upload now?

In case you haven't figured it out, I am a computer idiot learning as I go.......

ohhhhhh I am soooo jealous!!!!  How did you do that?  I would gladly take 27 upload right now compared to my 5!

As for pics and AOL...  you right click on the pics and save to your computer.  Set up a folder just for them under "My Documents".  It's pretty simple actually and you have more control then with AOL.

Jewel- I did the setup that the Rev (God bless his heart!) posted--the first post up on the board and it worked!

As far as pics, what I am referring to is pics to want to upload to web...you have to first store on FTP server and apparantly that doesn't come with Direcway like it does AOL.  :icon_pale:

yeah I tried all those.....  but apparently I cannot ping..... therefore the optimizers won't work.  When I ping... no matter where I ping.....  I get either request timed out or extrememly high numbers with a 25-35% packet loss.  Tech support even hung up on me last night.  told me that it was my computer..... not them!  I am about ready to tell Direcway to kiss my hiney!!!

Just a tidbit on upload speeds....

I have been averaging in the high 50Kbps range on uploads since I applied all the tweaks. I generally use the smaller files because I am impatient (hence my pain with Dway). Here is a link to my averages since I applied the tweaks:

https://testmy.net/personal_stats_30d.php?User_Name=JoeOtto&m=02&d=28&Y=2005

On Saturday morning, however, I had to upload 64 MB of photos to some photo site. According to the upload applet on the site, I started in the 40KB/Sec range and by the end, I averaged 11.3KB/sec for the whole upload. I timed it and did the rough math and agree with the value.

Although 11KB/sec isn't great, it is 3 times faster than I could get with dial-up from my home. (Dial-up here usually runs between 3.2 and 3.8KB/Sec both ways.

I can still whine though, can't I?
