It is not on mute the volume is at 100% yet when I play a video no sound come out. If I use headphones I do hear a LITTLE bit but barely. what's wrong? Is there something wrong with the sound card or something?? How do I fix it (any way I could do it myself easily?)? Because restarting doesn't work.

I used to have to do this with my XP box.

Go to control panel*classic view*left click system icon*hardware tab*device manager*sound, video, and game controllers*ATI unified*right click*properties*driver tab*uninstall*reboot

That might just do the trick. Let us know if you would. :cheesy:

was just about to type this. glad i read the replies first. tommie, on my old dell with xp home i used to have to do that after every service pack update...not sure why but it fixed it. :smile2:

I just saw one a couple weeks ago that somehow, maybe a update as you guys say, placed the volum in the main sound preferences to mute, now I know ther's a little sound, so maybe an application took over and lowered it, it may have hooked it, so if your not running that application, unless you go into your sound preferences and change the slider.

Just tossing another idea out there.
