I am thinking it's system upgrade time. I have been working with my current one, but I need more power.

Here is the current part config I am thinking:

Purchase Parts:

XCLIO A380COLOR Fully Black 1.0 mm SECC / ABS Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case - $79.99

MSI 790XT-G45 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard - $89.99

GIGABYTE GV-R555D3-1GI Radeon HD 5550 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - $74.99

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor ADX620WFGIBOX - $89.00

--OPTIONAL--

If I still have enough cash I may buy this additional RAM.

PQI POWER Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model MAD44GUOE-X2 - $73.99

Old Parts:

2x1GB DDR2 RAM Sticks

1x1T SATA WD Drive

1xDVD/CD Burner IDE Drive

1x80GB WD Drive (OS) <-- Might not even use.

1xRoseWill 550Watt PSU

What do you guys think? Does this look like a good setup? I plan to upgrade to a Phenom later, but does this look like it would be a semi-decent gaming PC. (I will put Windows 7 on it.)

Thanks,

EBrown

any chance your old pc is a freebie ? ,

I am still on a tricore AMD and xp.

I am planning on selling my old Motherboard, Processor, Video Card and Case. Unless I use them to build a semi-decent low-gaming computer for my siblings.

I have a single core Celeron-D Roco. XD With Windows Vista.

Thanks,

EBrown
