hello guys.i just upgraded to the 6Mbps speed and i cant get my speed evenpast 4mpbs.i tried the settings above and still no go.

im using XP with SP2.any help please?

I would bet that before you had the 3meg service, and when you called you said you wanted 6 meg, but it might not be available in your area yet.

SOO....they upgraded you to 4meg until they get your entire area's hardware upgraded.

In fact thats what they're doing to me right now, and Im going to call and bitch to them...haha...taking too long!!!...

So just my advice...wait a little while and see what happens...

by the way I live in Michigan and still no upgrade here >.<  :angry2:

i live in chicago and before i told them to upgrade me..i asked the guy if its available in my area already and he said yes.this is just frustrating..i was using 3com modem before i knew that Comcast is upgrading their server and then they told me that the new server doesnt support my old 3com modem so i went and got the SB5100 and im still slow as a turtle.

i readand read all the stuff here and i still can even get 3.5mbps on the download test.i triedver.6 6000/768 settings and theone above this post and still weak.i even did the tuneup utility 2004.(god..pathetic aint it?..)

Have you tried going into "msconfig"? Usually, if I have a slow problem I look in the "start up items" in msconfig. You can disable all or choose which programs that you want to start up when your computer starts up. Disabling all won't delete any programs, just disable them from running in the background at start up. Are you familiar with this utility? If not, go to your start button and choose thr "run" option, then typr "msconfig" and click ok. When the utility opens, click the top, far right "start up" tab. If you have a lot of checked files, that could be some of the problem. Hope this helps!
