rcs500 Posted January 12, 2011 CID Share Posted January 12, 2011 The test results for upload test show extremely low Upload speeds when Smart Test option is chosen. It states the test size to be 97MB (which I doubt) and the resulting math shows scores of 55Kbps to 67Kbps. Yet when I run other Upload test where I specify the file size such as 5.8MB, we see results like 207 Kbps. I trust the latter more just based on the clock time it takes. The Smart Test runs in less than a minute while the 5.8MB test took a much longer elapsed time. Is Smart Test working and computing right? (see my actual results below). Those are supposed to say 97kB. I've resolved this issue. As for the SmarTest deal... there's nothing inaccurate about your results. It's stopping at 97kB because it's taking over 5 seconds. Satellite connections often take time to build up to their max speed... However, I did make some changes that should resolve that issue with SmarTest and satellite connections, by starting with a larger initial test size of 386kB (up) 512kB (down)...
